Astraea Group difference

Reimagining the delivery of legal and professional services

Clients are facing increasingly complex and frequent high-impact threat-events, exacerbated by global volatility. These stressful situations are multi-faceted and often involve a myriad of legal, reputational, political, commercial and environmental issues. Value protection is as important as taking calculated risks, and pivoting to exploit the right opportunities, as they arise.

Too often, an organisation’s response to these atypical events is hampered by having to identify, appoint and manage multiple external advisors, to deal with different aspects of the same problem. Organisations exhaust finite resources, project managing different (and sometimes competing) external advisors, which takes their focus off leading their organisation and ensuring continuity of business-as-usual delivery. And this has consequences – it is expensive, time consuming and it impairs the effective management of the problem itself.

Complex situations are impacting clients with greater frequency, and they require a multi-disciplinary, flexible and outcome-focused approach. It looks and feels different because it is. Because it needs to be – that’s the essence of the Astraea Group.

Community Access & Social Responsibility

We have a strong commitment to community access and inclusivity. We are committed to spending a proportion of our time helping those who would not otherwise be able to access legal support.

We are a significant contributor to "Advocate", the organisation that provides free legal advice and representation to those in need, and our team are committed to fundraising to promote access to legal assistance in the community.

Above all, Astraea Group aims to promote access to and openness in the provision of expert advocacy and legal advice for all who need the promotion or protection of their rights.

Social Mobility

We promote access to the legal profession for those who have the ability, but do not have the opportunity. We work with charitable providers to promote funded opportunities to state school students to come to London and experience a career in the law. These range from funded internships to informal work experience. We help to mentor those who want that support, giving advice on pre-UCAS, Personal Statements and CVs, as well as interview training.

We believe lack of social mobility is the biggest impediment to wider diversity in the legal profession. Our responsibility to promote it sits alongside our commitment never to discriminate on grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or regional, social and economic background.

The Astraea Group team is consequently diverse. It is above all energised, committed and enthusiastic.
